Bring Back “the Beacon”

Join the effort to relight the sky over the Parkway by 2026

Neons for Buttonwood, last illuminated in 2015. Photos by Chuck Homler.

It’s time to bring this acclaimed sculpture back to life.

The CityLights Committee continues to work toward restoring the iconic sculpture to its original glory and assure its maintenance for up to 25 years. The condo association invested $60,000+ to help launch the campaign. Residents also have contributed more than $60,000 toward the fund-raising goal of $750,000.

Intensive outreach has begun to individual and corporate neighbors in Logan Square—and beyond—for financial support. Committee members have met with decision-makers able to give or help get contributions,

To ensure responsible management of all funds, the committee has engaged Impact Services, a four-decades-old agency based in Philadelphia, to serve as fiscal agent for the project. Their participation means that all contributions are tax deductible.
